Biosketch

J. R. P. Gupta was born in Patna, India, on July 22, 1948. He received the B.Sc. (Engg.) degree in electrical engineering from Muzaffarpur Institute of Technology (MIT), Muzaffarpur, India, in 1972 and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Bihar, Muzaffarpur, in 1983. He was an Assistant Professor with MIT for more than a decade. He then switched over to Regional Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, where he served for about seven years. In 1994, he joined Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, New Delhi, India, as a Professor of instrumentation and control engineering. He is currently a Professor and a Department Head with the Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering, University of Delhi, New Delhi. He has guided eight Ph.D. and many Master’s theses. He is the author of more than 100 publications in reputed journals and conferences. His research interests include power electronics, control systems, and biomedical instrumentation. Dr. Gupta was a recipient of the Institution of Electrical and Telecommunication Engineers India Best Paper Award. He is a life member of ISTE and a Senior Member of IEEE.
